PURPOSE: An apparatus for receiving digital multimedia broadcasting capable of reproducing digital multimedia data and a method for the same are provided to reduce the amount of data transmission between modules and to perform viewing of the digital multimedia broadcasting and reproduction of another multimedia. CONSTITUTION: An antenna(210) receives digital broadcasting waves of digital broadcasting data relating to plural programs transmitted from broadcasting stations. A modulating member of a broadcasting receiving module(220) modulates the digital broadcasting waves received by the antenna, extracts a TS(Transport Stream) of a specific channel selected by a user and outputs the extracted transport stream to an error correction member(223). The error correction member corrects a signal error of the reproduced transport stream. A TS demultiplexer(225) comprises a section filter, demultiplexes the transport stream and separates transmission packets of the digital broadcasting data corresponding to the program selected by the user. A CA(Condition Access) receiving member(227) comprises a descrambler(228) and a packet filter(229) and descrambles the digital broadcasting data by using a scrambling key produced by a smart card(250).
