Method and device for lubricating rolling rolls

An installation for the in-line lubrication of rolls for the hot rolling of steel strip by pulverization or atomization of a lubricant or mixture of lubricants on a target, comprises an essentially closed case (1) provided with: (a) a mechanism (10) for forming a cloud of lubricating droplets with a size of less than 2 mm, preferably less than 700 Microm and more preferably less than 200 Microm; (b) a diaphragm (3) with an adjustable opening placed on a leading surface of the case; and (c) a device for the recuperation of excess lubricant (4) on the part of the diaphragm inside the case and on the inner walls of the case. An independent claim is also included for lubricating rolling mill rolls using this installation.
