摘要 Cooling rollers or discs with a structured surface (transverse grooves for rollers or grooves running outwards from the axis of rotation in the case of discs) are used for rapidly cooling the aluminum/nickel alloy melt in the production of Raney nickel catalysts, after which the solidified alloy is treated with organic or inorganic base. A method for the production of Raney nickel catalysts by bringing a molten alloy of 40-95 wt% aluminum, 5-50 wt% nickel, 0-20 wt% iron, 0-15 wt% cerium, cerium composition metal, vanadium, niobium, tantalum, chromium, molybdenum and/or manganese and optionally other glass-forming elements into contact with rotating cooling roller(s) or disc(s) and allowing the alloy to cool and solidify. The cooling elements used have a structured surface formed by transverse grooves in the case of rollers or grooves running outwards from the axis of rotation in the case of discs, and the rapidly cooled alloy is then subjected to treatment with organic or inorganic bases. Independent claims are also included for (1) Raney nickel catalysts obtained by this method (2) a method for the hydrogenation of aromatic nitro compounds with the aid of these catalysts.
