Method and system for the storage of messages using address pointers

A message is buffered in a memory for later recall. The addressee receives a short message relating to the receipt of the message. In connection with the short message, an address pointer is generated relating to the memory location of the message. During the time of its storage, a message is sequentially stored in different memories, and the address pointer is adapted to the address of the current memory. Each memory is part of another computer connected to a communication network. An independent claim is included for a system for performing the method.
