A primary type of filter material e.g. cellulose acetate, polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon, PBT (polybutadiene), PC (polycarbonate), hot glue (14) is melted and pressed through at least one nozzle (10). The primary type of filter material is deposited on the wrapper material (17) arranged on a garniture belt (19). A filter rod is shaped on the garniture belt. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a filter rod production device; and (B) a cigarette filter production method.
