A valve, which may be used to control the flow of fluidized solid material from a fire extinguisher, comprises a duct extending between the entrance 14 and the exit 19, externally operable means 26 for opening and closing the valve, a piston 34 slidable in a bore leading from the duct upstream of and away from the valve to the exterior of the body, an indicator spring 35 urging the piston towards the duct against the fluid pressure prevailing at the entrance, and a stem 33 extending from the piston to indicate the pressure. The valve may be opened against a spring 24 after penetration of a seal 28 of paper or similar material. A gasket 12 is inserted between the valve body and a container 11 to which the valve is connected by a syphon tube 14.</p> |
