PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow bit streams to be switched with no interruption when the bit streams of a plurality of distribution servers are switched for delivery to a client. SOLUTION: Between distribution servers 101, 102 to 10n and clients 111, 112 to 11n, secondary distribution servers 121, 122 to 12n are provided which relay the bit stream delivered from the distribution server to the client, corresponding to clients. If, for example, the secondary distribution server 121 changes the bit stream delivered from the distribution server 101 to that delivered from the distribution server 102 upon request from the client 111, the delivery of the bit stream from the server 101 to the client 111 is continued until the bit stream from the server 102 is received at switching. |
