<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To respond to a shearing displacement of a joint, by laminating and burying a desired number of laminate members in an elastic member, fixing flange form iron plates to both sides of the elastic member, and connecting it to the flanges of the pipe ends respectively through the iron plates. SOLUTION: In an elastic member 1 such as a natural rubber, a synthetic rubber, or a synthetic resin, a laminate member 2 of a woven cloth of a natural, synthetic, or metallic fibre, a nonwoven fabric, or a metal plate, is buried in the condition laminating a desired number being held by the elastic members 1 placing an interval, and iron plates 3 are fixed integrally on both sides in the flange form, so as to compose a packing 4. The iron plates 3 are fitted to the flanges 6 at the ends of pipes 5 to connect respectively, they are fixed by bolts 7, and the pipes 5 are connected integrally. Since the elastic members 1 at the end of the packing 4 is provided between the flanges 6 and the iron plates 3, a normal packing is not necessary to use. Consequently, both pipes are not connected directly, the joint can be shearing displaced, and no breakage of the connecting unit is generated.</p> |
