PURPOSE: A method of controlling a battery temperature of a hybrid electric vehicle is provided to improve fuel efficiency by maximizing consumption of battery energy of the hybrid electric vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A speed detection process is performed to analyze an input signal received from a vehicle speed sensor and detect a speed of a hybrid electric vehicle(S210). A battery temperature detection process is performed to analyze an input signal received from a battery temperature detection sensor and detect a battery temperature(S212). A control process is performed to analyze a vehicle speed signal and a battery temperature signal, control capacity of a battery, and perform a high output control operation of the battery(S214-S238).
