PURPOSE: An IP terminal having a busy short message service function and a short message service supplying method thereof are provided to supply a short message service to an IP terminal by setting a call according to an SIP(Session Initiation Protocol), and to carry out the short message service to the third IP terminal which is in busy state. CONSTITUTION: A user conducts an initial setup to make a call by setting the call between a self IP terminal and other IP terminal(S10). The IP terminal receives address information of the other IP terminal(S11). A call control module of the IP terminal sets the call through a network interface module by using an invite method(S12). The call control module decides whether the user selects a preset message button(S13). If so, a message processing module outputs an address information list of the other IP terminal through a display(S14). The message processing module stores a structure where character information is inputted(S15), and decides whether a character transmission signal is received(S16). If so, the message processing module transmits character information inputted to the other IP terminal(S17).
