PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling a view channel of a TV and a method thereof are provided to perform a channel transfer through an automatic skip of previous view channels according to the user's request when searching the channel, thereby reducing the search time of the entire channels. CONSTITUTION: A tuner(10) receives a digital broadcasting signal. A TP(Transport Packet) separating member(11) separates the digital broadcasting signal into audio, video and data signals. An image processing member(50) processes the separated image signal so that the processed signal is displayed. An audio processing member(60) processes the separated audio signal so that the processed signal is displayed. A memory member(60) stores broadcasting information from the separated data signal. A control member(20) stores the broadcasting information of the broadcasting signal viewed by a user to the memory member. When the broadcasting information corresponding to the search channel during the channel search exist in the memory member, the control member skips the channel. |
