PURPOSE: A material feed device and a material feed method are provided to prevent breakage of the surface of a material and occurrence of static electricity in feeding the material and to safely feed the material with simplified equipment. CONSTITUTION: A material feed device comprises at least one vacuum plate(12) in which a vacuum pipe is installed to suck a material(1) on the top and to feed the material; suction control parts(24) in which a motor and a vacuum pump connected to the vacuum pipe are installed; and a driving unit(30) installed to the lower side of the suction control part to feed the vacuum plate in a direction. The suction control part is arranged to the lower part of the vacuum plate.
