PURPOSE: An SMS broadcast service system by using an abbreviation code and a method thereof are provided to designate each group as abbreviation codes, and to input a corresponding abbreviation code when a user transmits a message through an SMS, thereby simultaneously transmitting the message to all receivers of a group designated as the abbreviation code. CONSTITUTION: An SMS broadcast service system consists of a transmitting mobile communication terminal(110), a transmitting wireless base station(120), a mobile communication switching center(130), an HLR(Home Location Register)(132), VLR(Visitor Location Register)(134), an SMS center(140), a broadcast list managing server(410), receiving wireless base stations(150,420,440), and receiving mobile communication terminals(160,430,450). The broadcast list managing server(410) receives an abbreviation code stored in a number field of the receiving mobile terminals(160,430,450) instead of receiving terminal phone numbers, and transmits a short message received from the transmitting terminal(110) to each receiving terminal(160,430,450) designated as the abbreviation code. |
