PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to obtain a uniform orientation direction on the entire substrate, thereby uniformly controlling liquid crystals by the uniform orientation direction and preventing the light leakage due to the defective rubbing, by performing an orientation direction alignment process with a rubbing process. CONSTITUTION: The first substrate(111) and the second substrate are respectively prepared. A thin film transistor is formed on the first substrate. The first alignment layer(150) is formed on the first substrate including the thin film transistor. A rubbing process and an orientation direction alignment process are performed on the first alignment layer to provide a uniform alignment direction. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the first substrate and the second substrate. Herein, the orientation direction alignment process is capable of being performed before the rubbing process or after the rubbing process.
