PURPOSE: An image forming apparatus is provided to prevent an intermediate transfer belt from being wrinkled to thereby obtain color images having high quality. CONSTITUTION: An image forming apparatus includes photosensitive drums(50Y,50M,50C,50K), a transfer belt(52) for transferring a toner from the photosensitive drums to a transfer medium, a plurality of transfer rollers(83Y,83M,83C,83K) constructing a plurality of transfer regions and supplying charges to the transfer belt to transfer the toner from the photosensitive drums to the transfer medium, the first extension unit coming into contact with the transfer belt in the first contact region to extend the transfer belt, and the second extension unit coming into contact with the transfer belt in the second contact region to extend the transfer belt. The plurality of transfer regions are arranged between the first and second contact regions adjacent to each other and include the first transfer region closest to the first contact region. The image forming apparatus further includes a member to be boned to the transfer belt in a position between the first transfer region and the first contact region. |
