METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CREATING COMPOUND IMAGE USING A PLURALITY OF IMAGES

A method and an apparatus for generating a synthesized image using a plurality of video images are provided to make it possible to use a memory efficiently by removing necessity for using separate format information when the synthesized image is generated. A region distinction bit value of image data values of selected one of original background images is updated to a region distinction value corresponding to each pixel region in order to generate an updated background image. The pixel region is a background region and a preview region. The background region is displayed by using the updated background image. The preview region is displayed by using a video image corresponding to an external image inputted through a camera part. The background region and the preview region are distinguished from each other based on the region distinction value. When a photograph instruction is inputted(340), a digital image corresponding to the displayed updated background image and the displayed video image is generated and stored.
