PURPOSE: A mover is provided to reduce manufacturing costs by eliminating the need of a pre-cut processing, and prevent a degradation of magnetic characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A cylinder type linear motor comprises a mover core fixed to one or more direct drive shafts(27a,27b). The mover core includes a laminated yoke(29) formed by laminating a plurality of electromagnetic steel plates in an axial direction of the direct drive shafts. The laminated yoke has a pair of side surfaces extended along the direct drive shafts and arranged to face with each other with the direct drive shafts interposed between the side surfaces. A plurality of permanent magnets(31) are fixed at each of the side surfaces such that the permanent magnets are arranged in the axial direction of the direct drive shafts. The permanent magnets are arranged such that the polarities on the outer surfaces of two adjacent permanent magnets are different from each other, and polarities on the outer surfaces of two permanent magnets opposed with each other are different from each other.
