PURPOSE: An image forming apparatus is provided to improve maintenance characteristic of a recording sheet transfer unit. CONSTITUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a transfer unit(22) and a pair of side members(20,21). The transfer unit transfers a recording sheet on which an image is formed. The pair of side members are provided to both sides of the recording sheet transferred by the transfer unit. Each of the pair of side members includes the first surface(20A,21A) and the second surface different from the first surface. The first surfaces of the pair of side members are opposite to each other. The transfer unit is provided on the second surfaces of the side members.
