PURPOSE: A search system using a web browser, a recording medium recording a search program, and a PC are provided to easily search a desired document by inputting a character string of natural language as a query without using an HTTP(HyperText Transfer Protocol) server. CONSTITUTION: An interface part(2) uses function of the browser(20) to parse scripts included in a file of an HTML(HyperText Markup Language) format, operates an interface component(21) matched with the installed browser, and calls a search component(22) by the interface component. A search engine(5) is operated by the search component, parses the inputted character string, and searches data matched with the character string from databases(6,7,13) by responding to a parsing result. A searcher(2a) detects a sort of the installed browser from installation information stored in installation information storing part(4).
