PURPOSE: An apparatus for compensating reservation recording/viewing in the event of instantaneous power failure is provided to detect reservation recording and reservation viewing data when instantaneous power failure occurs, store the difference between the current time and stored reservation time in a memory and count the time difference when power is back, to thereby compensate reservation recording/viewing. CONSTITUTION: A remote control detector(7) detects reservation recording and reservation viewing functions transmitted from a remote controller. A power supply(10) transforms commercial power into microcomputer power to supply the microcomputer power to a microcomputer(20). The microcomputer stores time related to the reservation recording and reservation viewing functions. The microcomputer stores the difference between the current time when power enters a fail mode and the stored time related to the reservation recording and reservation viewing functions in the event of instantaneous power failure. When the power failure is cancelled, the microcomputer reads and counts the time difference, and executes the reservation recording and reservation viewing functions when counting is finished.
