PLASMA DISPLAY DEVICE WITH REDUCED DEFECTS OF OXYGEN OF BLUE PHOSPHOR AND IMPROVED DISCHARGE CHARACTERISTICS AND BRIGHTNESS OF PHOSPHOR LAYERS

PURPOSE: A plasma display device is provided to prevent deterioration in brightness of phosphor layers and achieve improved discharge characteristics by reducing defects of oxygen of blue phosphor. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display device comprises a plasma display panel(100) in which a plurality of discharge cells having one or a plurality of colors are arranged and phosphor layers(110R,110G,110B) having colors corresponding to the discharge cells are arranged. The phosphor layers are excited by ultraviolet rays, to thereby emit light. The phosphor layers include a blue phosphor, and the blue phosphor is an alkali earth metal aluminate phosphor containing an element selected from Mo and W.
