PURPOSE: A driving apparatus for a display device is provided to have little influence on an adjacent data line while outputting a gray scale voltage and have high temporal margin as to transition of the gray scale voltage. CONSTITUTION: The driving apparatus for a display device has a gray scale voltage generation unit(111) generating a gray scale voltage corresponding to each of a plurality of gray levels. The driving apparatus also has a gray scale voltage selection unit(109) selects the gray scale voltage to be output to a pixel unit of a display unit according to input display data from a plurality of generated gray scale voltages. The gray scale voltage generation unit outputs gray scale voltages with different levels according to a time-division period of one scan period to output the gray scale voltage to the pixel unit. The gray scale voltage selection unit selects a gray scale voltage to be output to the pixel unit from the gray scale voltages being output from the gray scale voltage generation unit, and controls the length of a gray level output period by the display data.
