PURPOSE: A display system and its control method are provided to solve an inconvenience in waiting until a logo screen disappears, stopping a DVD regeneration state and converting a current mode into a TV mode in a case that a user selects a DVD regeneration and immediately wants to watch TV. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises an input unit(10), a signal processor(20), a mode switch unit(18), an output unit, and a controller. The signal processor(20) processes broadcasting signals from a tuner and regeneration signals from an optical recording/regenerating unit. The mode switch unit(18) sends selectively either the broadcasting signals or the regeneration signals to the signal processor(20). The output unit outputs signals processed by the signal processor(20). The controller makes a tuner receive broadcasting signals and the mode switch unit(18) and the signal processor(20) send the received broadcasting signals to the output unit while image or audio data is being loaded at an optical recording/regenerating unit according as a user inputs a data storage medium regeneration instruction via the input unit(10).
