PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for collecting active route network information from a mobile ad hoc network are provided to reduce an overhead by reporting recovered local link route only to nodes which are to actually use it, not broadcasting it to every node in an MANET(Mobile Ad hoc Network). CONSTITUTION: An RF(Radio Frequencty) transceiver(210) wirelessly communicates with a plurality of MANET nodes according to an AODV(Ad hoc On-Demand Vector) protocol. A controller, which includes a data processor(220) and a memory(230), receives a reception data packet from the RF transceiver(210) and transmits a transmission data packet to the RF transceiver(210). The controller also receives a path marker request message generated by a source MANET node and obtains the first route structure data related to the first route from the path marker request message. The first route structure data discriminates every intermediate MANET nodes existing at the first route for coupling the first MANET node to the source MANET.
