TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM FOR REDUCING THE WEIGHT OF A PROPULSION FORCE-PROVIDING UNIT THROUGH SIMPLIFIED CONSTITUTION

PURPOSE: A transportation system is provided to lighten the weight of a propulsion force-providing unit by simplifying constitution of the propulsion force-providing unit. CONSTITUTION: A transportation system has air blast-type support units(3) and propulsion force-proving units(4). The air blast-type support unit supplies clean air toward the bottom of an article(2) and supports the article in a non-contact state in a horizontal posture or an approximately horizontal posture. The propulsion force-proving unit provides propulsion force in a transportation direction to the article supported by the air blast-type support unit. The propulsion force-proving unit is a one-side driving type of providing propulsion force to one end(2b) of a traverse width direction orthogonal to the transportation direction of the article.
