PURPOSE: A light weight bolt is provided to give a superior strength characteristic by using the value of Vf corresponding to the bolt head part to 15vol.%. CONSTITUTION: A light weight bolt includes SiC and 6061 aluminum alloy as matrix metal. The strength of a screw part included in the light weight bolt is high because Vf is high. The light bolt includes a bolt head part(3), a bolt shaft part(5), and a screw part(6). The value of Vf corresponding to the bolt head part(3) is 15vol.%. The value of Vf corresponding to the bolt shaft part(5) is 20vol.%, 25vol.%, or 30vol.%. The strength of the screw part(6) formed at the bolt shaft part(5) increases as the value of Vf rises. The value of Vf of an area corresponding to the bolt head part(3) is set the optimal value by a material characteristic of matrix metal.
