The method involves marking a field angle between a vertical plane (T) of an erroneous path (6) and/or vertical plane (T) from a starting point (2) to a fall zone of a ball (7) at the ground and a predetermined reference vertical plane (N). A player (1) is moved on a golf course from the starting point to the fall zone by following a path, using the field angle, which leads to the fall zone for finding and recovering the ball. An independent claim is also included for a device of implementing a method of recovering a golf ball.
