The use in a cosmetic composition for coating keratinic fibers comprising an aqueous phase of one or more (co)polymers of polyacrylamidomethyl propane sulfonic acid (AMPS) as a gelling agent and at least 0.1 wt.% of silica and/or 3.6 wt.% or less of one or more gums: gum arabic, guar gum, xanthan derivatives, karaya gum or a mixture of them to confer keratinic fiber curving and/or thickening properties and the composition itself. An independent claim is included for a method of non-therapeutic care of keratinic fibers, especially the eyelashes comprising application of the claimed composition.
