PURPOSE: A shock absorber is provided to reduce noise by removing naturally bubbles by tension and compression strokes and to improve performance and durability by decreasing lag effect. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorber is composed of a tube(20) fully filled with oil; a base shell in which oil is filled by half; a piston rod of which one end is inserted into the tube and the other end is extended toward the outside of the base shell; and an uneven knurling surface(24) formed on the outer peripheral surface of the tube and contacted with bubbles generated in operating the shock absorber to remove bubbles. For tension stroke of the piston rod, the oil of a storage chamber disposed between the base shell and the tube is inserted through a body valve into the base shell and the level of the oil is reduced. The oil flows down along the tube and bubbles are contacted to the knurling surface and scattered. Some of the bubbles remaining on the knurling surface are contacted with the air and removed.
