PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing aβ-diketonato complex of copper by which the complex is mass-synthesized in high yield without requiring a filtering step which is one operation being an obstacle in the mass-production. SOLUTION: The method for producing theβ-diketonato complex of the copper represented by general formula (I) (wherein, R<SB>1</SB>is a 1-5C straight chain or branched alkyl group; and R<SB>2</SB>is a 1-5C straight chain or branched alkylene group) involves forming a two-phase system composed of an organic solvent phase containing aβ-diketone represented by general formula (II) (wherein, R<SB>1</SB>is a 1-5C straight chain or branched alkyl group; and R<SB>2</SB>is a 1-5C straight chain or branched alkylene group) and an aqueous solution phase of a cupric salt (a copper carboxylate) of a 1-6C aliphatic carboxylic acid, and reacting theβ-diketone with the copper carboxylate.
