PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging box with which the bulge of side plates can be reduced by positively crushing only a void occurring in an upper part of the box even if a load is applied from upward. SOLUTION: A groove 13 with a depth of an approximate half thickness of corrugated fiberboard is successively formed laterally from the external surface at a distance of 6 mm from a top plate 1 on side plates 3 and 4 and respective outer flaps 9 and 10. Thus, when a load is applied from upward to the packaging box, the vicinity of the groove 13 buckles inwardly with the groove 13 as a border to collapse the void 14, thereby reducing the bulge of the side plates 3 and 4 and the outer flaps 9 and 10.
