A filtering device having a filter housing is described, which has a replaceable filter cartridge which can be inserted into the filter housing and which contains a filter element, particularly in the form of a bundle of capillary or hollow fiber membranes. At the ends of the cartridge the filter element is embedded in a sealing compound of the end piece, and the peripheral surface of the end piece is in the form of a sealing face and carries at least one sealing element. The peripheral surface of the end piece has a retaining structure, preferably integrally molded thereon so as to cooperate with said retaining device, and said retaining device and said retaining structure preferably interengage slackly to allow for movement of the filter cartridge in at least one direction.
