FUNCTIONAL FOOD CONTAINING FRUCTUS SCHISANDRAE EXTRACT OR LIGNAN SEPARATED FROM FRUCTUS SCHISANDRAE USEFUL FOR PREVENTION OR TREATMENT OF IMMUNOPATHOLOGICAL REACTION

PURPOSE: A functional food containing an extract of Fructus Schisandrae or lignan separated from Fructus Schisandrae which have excellent activity on inhibiting transcription of NFAT(nuclear factor of activated T cells) without affecting cell survival is provided. The food can be safely and effectively used in prevention or treatment of an immunopathological reaction containing autoimmune disease, transplant rejection and inflammatory reaction caused by excessive activation of NFAT. CONSTITUTION: The functional food for prevention or treatment of autoimmune disease contains a Fructus Schisandrae extract, lignan separated from Fructus Schisandrae or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt as an effective ingredient. The Fructus Schisandrae extract is obtained by extracting Fructus Schisandrae in an aqueous alcohol solution, concentrating, dispersing the alcohol concentrate in water and then fractioning the concentrate in hexane, ethyl acetate and butanol in order. The autoimmune disease contains asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, allergy, atopic dermatitis and systemic lupus erythematosus.
