PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic saw which is free from operational stoppage or the like of a sawtooth blade during use, continuously carries out smooth operation thereof, is excellent in working efficiency, simple in structure, low in cost, and high in quality. SOLUTION: The sawtooth blade 2 is connected to an end of a blade holder 1, and a plunger 3 arranged on the other end of the same is slidably inserted into a housing 6. Then an engaging die 10 is fixed to the plunger 3 inserted into the housing 6, and an engaging slot 11 is formed in a side surface of the engaging die 10 in a direction orthogonal to an axis of the plunger 3. Further, a crank shaft 12 rotated by an air motor is engageably inserted into the engaging slot 11 via a side surface opening 13 formed in the housing 6, and the side surface opening 13 is rotatably or rigidly connected to the motor housing 16.
