The method uses a first table recording the measured basal temperature and the cervical mucus quality for each day of the monthly cycle and a second table indicating a predicted fertility level for each cycle day and cervical mucus quality. The first day with a raised basal temperature obtained from the first table is used as an indication of ovulation, for determining the potentially fertile days using the second table. An independent claim for a device for indicating the fertile days within a female monthly cycle is also included.
