Waste water treatment plant especially for onboard ship has at least three settlement and processing tanks in line and with sludge pumped back into the first tank

A waste water treatment plant, e.g. for on board a ship, processes sewage and grey water waste and discharges the treated water while retaining sludge and solids. At least three settlement and processing tanks are connected in line with sewage and solid content waste water fed into the first tank and with grey water fed into the last tank. The tanks provide a microbiological process which reduces the waste. The resulting sludge is drawn off from the bottom of each tank and passed back into the first tank. The pumps include maceration to reduce solids and fibres etc. The processing is enhanced by aeration. The final tank has disinfectant added before discharging the treated water.
