摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance image quality and to reduce light leakage on the periphery of data lines by reducing a load concerning the data lines and capacitance by coupling of the data lines and reference electrode. <P>SOLUTION: A thin film transistor substrate has a gate electrode, a gate insulating film, and a semiconductor layer which are successively formed on a substrate and further has a source electrode and a drain electrode formed on the semiconductor layer. The source electrode is connected to a data line and the data line has curved portion and crosses a gate line at right angle. A pixel electrode is formed on a protective film and electrically connected to the drain electrode. The side adjacent to the data line of the pixel electrode is curved along the data line and separated and disposed on the both sides of the data line to form two sub pixels corresponding to first and second pixel electrodes. A sustaining electrode disposed on the periphery of the pixel electrode and curved along the shape of the pixel is incorporated in the same layer as the gate electrode. A counter substrate has a common electrode opposed to the pixel electrode and having an aperture at the part corresponding to the data line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
