PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and its device capable of generating conversion data without degrading gradation quality in an output image. SOLUTION: A filter function selected from a filter function storage circuit 26 is weighted by a weighting function around image data of a particular point arbitrarily selected from an image displayed on a display device 42; a smoothing process for a look-up table Tj generated by a color conversion table generation circuit 24 is carried out; and a new look-up table T'j is set in a color processing circuit 14. Concentration data C, M and Y supplied from a calibration circuit 12 are converted into net% data C, M, Y and K by the smoothed look-up table T'j, subjected to an interpolation process, thereafter converted to LD control data and supplied to a laser diode.
