PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape cartridge capable of preventing a reel lock from inclining when a sliding contact part of the reel lock wears. SOLUTION: The magnetic tape cartridge is provided with a reel 20 which is set with a coil of a magnetic tape MT and is freely rotatably housed into a cartridge case, the reel lock 30 which is normally pressed by an elastic body to the reel 20 side to lock the reel 20 nonrotatably with respect to the cartridge case and a release pad 50 which unlocks the reel 20 to make the reel rotatable by pushing up the reel lock 30 against the energizing force of the elastic body. A spherical surface-shaped pivot 52 is disposed on the reel lock 30 side of the release pad 50 and a recessed surface 31a of a spherical surface shape formed of a radius larger than the radius of forming the pivot 52 is disposed on the release pad 50 side of the reel lock 30.
