1,264,833. Blood dialysis apparatus. MILTON ROY CO. 10 April, 1969 [10 April, 1968], No. 18520/69. Heading B1X. A dialysing fluid supply system in a haemodialysis unit in which the dialysis fluid concentration is regulated comprises a mixer 11 to mix thermostatted water with dialysing fluid concentrate supplied, from tank 15 by an electrically driven pump 13 which varies the volume of the concentrate supplied to the mixer 11 in response to an electrical signal delivered thereto by a concentration monitor 18 e.g. a conductivity cell or Ag/AgCl cell, so that the concentration of the final diluted dialyzing fluid remains substantially constant. A tachometer 33 controls the speed of the pump if other factors vary. The diluted fluid is stored in a vessel 20 from which it is drawn through the dialyser by a suction pump 32 controlled by monitors which include a further concentration monitor 19, over-temperature sensor 22, 23, pressure gauge 27, flowmeter 28 and blood leak detector 29. When any of these latter monitored condition exceeds its limits power is cut off from the pump 32. The system is electrically programmed for rinse, pre-sterilise, normalise, monitor test, alarm test, system test, dialyse and after sterilize. |
