<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent discoloration and decline of the strength of a housing caused by ultraviolet rays in a deodorizing device using an ultraviolet lamp and a photocatalyst and to improve durability. <P>SOLUTION: The deodorizing device comprises a duct 11, the ultraviolet lamp 12 mounted inside the duct 11, and the photocatalyst member 7 mounted on the surface of the duct 11 facing the ultraviolet 12. Since the material of the duct 11 at least in a section where ultraviolet rays are irradiated is metal, the material of the duct 11 in the section where ultraviolet rays are irradiated is not decomposed with the energy of the ultraviolet rays even if the ultraviolet rays are irradiated from the ultraviolet lamp 12, so that the discoloration and decline of strength of the duct 11 can be prevented, and therefore, the deodorization device with the improved durability can be provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
