PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing a pseudo-aminosaccharide derivative useful as a preventing and treating agent of diabetic mellitus or its production intermediate, and a method for producing a new carbasacchride useful as a raw material in the production of the pseudo-aminosaccharide derivative.

SOLUTION: This new carbasacchride derivative is expressed by general formula [I] (wherein, R1is H or a protecting group of hydroxy group).
