ULTRASONIC DIAGNOSTIC APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of measuring the velocity of propagation of pulse wave by a simple structure.

SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 100 comprises a transmission part 4 for transmitting the ultrasonic pulse from the surface of the skin of a subject in the longitudinal direction of a blood vessel, a movement quantity detecting part 3 for detecting the quantity of movement of a tissue at a first point in the blood vessel and at a second point in the blood vessel based on a first ultrasonic pulse reflected at an arbitrary first point in the blood vessel and a second ultrasonic pulse reflected at an arbitrary second point in the blood vessel, and a pulse wave propagation velocity calculating part 23 for calculating the velocity of propagation of pulse wave based on the change in the elapse of time of the quantity of movement of the tissue at the first point in the blood vessel and the change in the elapse of time of the quantity of movement of the tissue at the second point in the blood vessel detected by the movement quantity detecting part 3.
