<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with the selection of a pair of frequencies of the beat signal frequencies of an up phase and a down phase, and to improve a measurement precision of the relative distance and relative speed of an external target by using the observation value of the beat signal frequency of both the phases in a radar system according to an FMCW radar method. <P>SOLUTION: Tracking filters 18, 19 for predicting the frequency of a beat signal are provided for both of the up phase and the down phase, based on the relative distance and relative speed of the external target observed previously, the relative distance and relative speed of the external target observed last time are stored at a tracking result storage section 20, and the previous measurement result can be utilized even if the phase is switched. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
