PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper conveying mechanism capable of easily unjamming paper even when a paper conveying passage is not completely exposed to the outside of an apparatus equipped with it. SOLUTION: The paper conveying mechanism 30 is provided on a lower part of the both-side printing device 20 arranged above a paper cassette 10 of a printer 1. An upstream side paper guide member 31 and a downstream side paper guide member 32 are provided in the paper conveying mechanism 30 so that they are connected by a connection part 33 horizontally. When the paper jam occurs in the both-side printing device 20, a paper conveying direction upstream side part of the upstream side paper guide member 31 is lowered to a space after removing the paper cassette 10 while having the connection part 33 as a fulcrum, or a downstream side part of the downstream side paper guide member 32 is lowered.
