PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress or reduce the resonance of a mechanical element generated in an electromechanical element provided with a mechanical element having a mechanical resonance frequency element due to an external electric drive signal by cutting off or reducing the a resonance frequency element in the electric signal before introduced into the electromechanical element. SOLUTION: The electromechanical device and the electromechanical optical modulation device are composed by having: the electromechanical element 2 provided with the mechanical element having the mechanical resonance frequency element; a signal source 3 of the electric drive signal which drives the electromechanical element 2; and a means which cuts off or reduces the resonance frequency element in the electric drive signal supplied from the signal source 3. The resonance of the mechanical element due to the electric drive signal is suppressed or reduced by taking the composition.
