PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation sensor having proper detection accuracy, of which the rotation output linearly varies according to the variation in the rotation angle of a rotor. SOLUTION: The rotation sensor has a rotor 10 attached to the rotating shaft and consisting of a conductive sensing part 12, varying its width along the circumferential direction, an exciting coil forming a magnetic circuit together with the sensing part of the rotor by sending alternating exciting current, and a core body formed with an insulation magnetic material and holding the excitation coil. The rotation sensor also comprises a fixed core attached to a fixing member and is arranged facing the sensing part of the rotor with an interval in the axis direction of the shaft. The output signal generated by collaboration of the coil and the sensing part of the rotor varies linearly with the rotation angle of the rotor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
