PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and lightweight magnetic sensor capable of restraining magnetic sensitivity from getting low affected by a demagnetizing field of a magnetic substance, and applied favorably for a mobile direction sensor having a very high sensitivity characteristic. SOLUTION: In this magnetic sensor, a magnetostrictive thin film 12 comprising a magnetostrictive material is layered on an elastomer 11 comprising a thin sheet-like elastic material to constitute a vibration body 1. One direction on a plane perpendicular to a layered direction of the magnetostrictive thin film 12 and the elastomer 11 is made to serve as a longitudinal direction, in the vibration body 1. In the magnetostrictive thin film 12, the magnetic sensitivity is restrained from getting low affected by the demagnetizing field of the magnetic substance, by providing structure divided as the whole by one slit S provided in parallel to a longitudinal direction of the vibration body 1.
