PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water softener having high utility capable of being utilized in washing of the hair, bathing or the like in a home, a beauty salon and the like. SOLUTION: The water softener is equipped with a resin chamber 1, a recycle chamber 2 having a suction valve 18 for introducing air and a jet pump 21 having a nozzle 22, a diffuser 23 and a suction port 31. A washing line 20 is provided to the jet pump 21 on the side of the nozzle 22 thereof and a washing line A20a is connected across the diffuser 23 and the resin chamber 1 while a recycle line A9a is connected across the suction port 31 and the regeneration chamber 2 and a recycle line 9 is connected to the upper part of the regeneration chamber 2. A raw water softening line 5, a soft water line 15 and a drain line 11 are connected to the resin chamber 1. Further, a soft water valve 7 is provided to the soft water line 15 and a raw water softening valve 6 is provided to the raw water softening line 5 while a control device 27 for controlling the on-off of the soft water valve 7 is further provided and, when the raw water softening valve 6 is closed and the discharge of soft water is stopped, the soft water valve 7 is controlled by the control device 27 so as to be allowed to cooperate with the raw water softening valve 6 and closed.
