The housing has a cover (3) with two side housings (1,2) connected thereto to enclose a drive and lift for the treadmill. The first side housing has an integral first side wall and integral first front wall with several openings so that a user can easily fit the first side housing on a main frame of the treadmill. A second side housing with integral second side walls and openings lets the user fit the second side housing easily on the main frame. The cover is connected at the side to the first side housing and on a second side to the second side housing whilst a third front wall has opposite sides connected to the front walls of the two housings.
